The commitment of HERMASA shareholders and directors with regard to R & D makes this division the principle axis on which to base the company's strategy, designed to see our competitiveness grow day by day.

HERMASA has an in-house R & D department made up of a team of highly qualified and experienced engineers and technicians who use the latest technology incorporating the main innovations each year in computer-assisted design (3D). However, any member of the company is welcome to participate in R & D projects: for many years now, the organisation has sported a culture that promotes the contribution of ideas to improve current industrial processes.

With a determined bet on innovation as essential part of the competitive strategy, the company assigns 6% of its turn over to its R+D+i department. In addition, it is the second Galician company in obtaining the certificate of Management in R+D+i, in compliance with the norm UNE, issued by BUREAU VERITAS, being the first of its sector that have got this certificate. Hermasa is also certified with the ISO 9001-2000. The collaboration with different research institutions, technology transfer centers, Universities and our customer's companies and suppliers is a fundamental part on the achievement of the objectives with the greatest possible rigor and professionalism.

HERMASA has 23 patents registered in the Spanish Patents and Trademarks Office.

We also have the UNE 166.002 EX certificate controlling R&D+i management, ours being the first company in the sector to obtain this certificate.
